To begin with, the children asked lots of questions and Paul was really impressed at how much the children in Class C knew about the weather! Mrs Coates was also very impressed at how well they listened and welcomed their visitor.
After breaktime, Paul set up a large canvas screen and the children worked in small groups presenting the weather. One person was the weather presenter, one was a director and the third person was the camera man / woman. It was great fun!!
We were fascinated to find out all of the jobs involved in presenting the weather! You have to listen to the director (in an ear piece in your ear) and remember where to point on the blank screen - which is trickier than it looks! You also need to be able to extend the weather (if the director tells you to) or stop talking quickly if they give you the instruction to stop! All in all it really made our brains work!

We thoroughly enjoyed our day and many of Class C wish to work for the BBC (presenting the weather, being a camera man/woman or director) when they grow up!

Hello, happy new year. We are a busy class this term. We have 2 topics, space and Katie Morag. We are starting with space, looking at lots of planets, asteroids and aliens. On February 12th we are visiting the CLC and we will be dressed as aliens and spacemen!!Nursery is filling up fast with lots of new admissions and we welcome two new children to Reception!
Our topic this term is Houses and Homes so we will be looking at the local environment. Look out for more details in our Newsletter. But do look out for a crocodile of children winding their way through the village!

We twanged rulers off the desk to see if we could make different sounds. We also listened to the sound by putting our ear to the desk.
Miss Barron asked us to talk through a balloon to see if we could feel anything.
Some of us came up with the bright idea of seeing whether we could hear through more balloons.
CONCLUSION: A sound is made when something vibrates.
