What's new in Early Years?

This Spring term is very short so we plan on having lots of fun! Especially if the weather is good. We have so enjoyed learning lots about traditional tales that we have decided to continue with this theme. We have just listened to the story of Aladdin and have been busy weaving our own magic carpets so we can fly around the world and see lots of countries on our travels. We are going to learn about traditional crafts and games, so watch out for photographs of our wonderful skipping skills, hop scotch, hula-hooping, skittles and quoits.

Our garden is starting to come to life after the long winter. We've been busy planting beans and peas and will be planting turnips next week as we are looking at the story of The Enormous Turnip. All of the flowering plants and trees are blossoming so there's lots to observe and draw outside.

Some of the older children in n Foundation Stage are going to Beamish Open Air Museum soon. We will tell you all about it when we return.

Let it snow!

We all came to Nursery in our wellies, coats, hats, gloves and scarfs so we could play outside.

We had great fun making a snowman. It was very tricky so Mrs Kerridge helped us. The snow was very soft and we had quite a job rolling it into a ball.

We did it!.jpg

Snow can be great fun, if you're prepared!

It's a very busy time for class Grace Darling.
