Y5 - BR
Hi! We are Class BR (Year 5) at High Spen Primary School.
BR stands for the-one-and-only Bobby Robson! He was a footballing legend and a much-loved North East hero.
In our class, we share the values that ‘Wor Bobby’ personified during his life and career. Topping our list of values are: being friendly, being enthusiastic and being brave in how we approach things.
We chose friendly because we think being warm, open and kind is the best way to connect with others – something that Bobby Robson did throughout his life wherever he went.
We chose enthusiastic because we believe that you the more give to something, the more you get back in return. Bobby Robson was passionate about the things in his life – family, friends and football in particular - and his passion rubbed off on those around him.
Finally, we chose being brave. In our school, we say that ‘brave isn’t how you feel, it’s what you do’. In other words, we can choose to step up and do something even when we might be having doubts or worries. Sir Bobby was never afraid to do new, difficult or unfamiliar things even when others were doubting him (or he might have had doubts himself).
We are proud to be named after Bobby Robson! You are welcome to drop by and see what we are doing if you are in our school. You will find us all, along with Mr Cradock and Ms Hackney, in our classroom just off the main hall between Class FWD and Class MY.
