Well, it was fabulous to see the children on the big screen (as for the old bloke at the start...)

Each year, we gather in our memorial garden (just outside of our school) to remember those who bravely fought and lost their lives in war. It's extra special for us at High Spen because in our village we had two Victoria Cross war heroes. Their names are Frederick William Dobson and Thomas Young. Two of our classes in school are named after these brave soldiers who went back into no man's land to help rescue their fallen comrades. It's their message of 'looking out for each other' which we embed with our children here at High Spen Primary.
