VE day celebrations

Wow....what a day! We started the day with an assembly to learn all about VE day and share some videos of people who had been affected by the war.
Following that, classes spent time outside learning traditional games including hop scotch, two baller and bounce the penny. It was wonderful to see such beaming faces enjoying new games.
At lunchtime our wonderful lunchtime team created a picnic for all to enjoy either in the hall or on the yard. The 1940's music and beautiful bunting really helped to create a memorable atmosphere. It was gorgeous to see some children dancing to the music
Our afternoon involved children sharing photographs, medals and other memorabilia from families who took part in the war. It was heartwarming to share these memories.
We rounded off the day with a cake sale led by our PTFA team and children enjoyed tasting cakes and sweet treats
As you can see, it's been an AMAZING and memorable day for all. A huge thank you to families for donations of cakes, money and sharing personal family memorabilia. Finally a HUGE THANK YOU to all involved in organising this memorable event.
