71.4% of our children met the age-related standard in Reading, Writing and Maths combined – this was above the National average (62%).

Whilst we were delighted that the hard work of pupils (and staff) led to our Y6 attainment being in broadly in line or above the National Average in so many of the measures listed above.

We were equally thrilled to see great progress amongst those Y6 pupils with SEND, who may not always have achieved the age-related expectation, but did nonetheless make great progress from their starting points. Over 14% of this Y6 cohort had an EHCP. Some of these children often work really hard to make, outwardly, smaller levels of progress than some of their peers. At High Spen we look to celebrate effort and not just outcomes. So, lots to celebrate!
