As part of the government’s reforms around special educational needs (SEN) and with the introduction of the new code of Practice in September 2014, local authorities are required to publish a local offer showing the support available to disabled children and young people and those with SEN and their families and carers.

Please find attached a flyer for Axis, who have been commissioned from 1 February 2026 to deliver the Gateshead SENDIASS service.

From this date, Axis will provide free, confidential, and impartial information, advice, and support to children and young people with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), and to their parents and carers, across Gateshead.
