Chopwell Woods

So then, what can your friends and family tell us (or discover) about Chopwell Wood?

Our incredible Oracy Promises do not just help us to develop the skills we need to share what we think, they help us listen to others and ask questions to help us understand more.

So, next week (as well as bringing in tins for our Harvest Tower) we are going to be listening to each other, sharing what we know about the history of Chopwell Wood.

On Thursday morning Y1-Y6 children are walking along to the wood to take pictures of anything they can find which might have clues to the past! This could include the mining past, the introduction of electricity, the Lumber-Jills, the Bomb-Ponds or even information of a more distant past...

Rumour has it that Reception are putting out a plea for grown-ups (via Class Dojo) to walk along with them so they can collect lots of woodland objects to bring back for Nursery to use in their shared Autumn themed work.

So, dust off your relatives, harvest their wisdom and PLEASE share what your family can add to the melting pot of knowledge about the history of Chopwell Wood.
